Many of our clients are affected by the BT Super merger with Mercer Super Trust via successor fund transfer (SFT), effective from the 1st April 2023.
The affected USI are below:
- BTA0287AU - BT Super - For Life
- ASG0007AU - Asgard Employee Superannuation Account
In preparation for the SFT, these USIs are scheduled to be closed to the industry from the 24th March 2023. This means that these USIs will be closed from receiving contributions - and any contributions received from the 24th March 2023 will be rejected. Unfortunately this means due to the preparation for the SFT, there is a period between the 24th March 2023 and the 1st April 2023 where no contributions will be able to be paid for employees that have a membership under these USIs. Clients are unable to pay to the new USIs with Mercer until the 1st April 2023.
ClickSuper will be turning off the ability to successfully upload transactions to BTA0287AU and ASG0007AU from the 21st March 2023 as payment clearance will finalise on the 24th March 2023, leading to rejections for our clients. If you have already scheduled a contribution for one of these USIs for debit after the 21st March 2023, these will be rejected by the superfund and returned back to you. If not debited yet, we recommend unscheduling and deleting the transaction and planning to repay it after the 1st April 2023 to Mercer Super. If payments have already been made to BT Super, they should arrive in time to be processed by BT Super ahead of the merger.
Historically when possible, ClickSuper is able to provide the new USI details for superfund mergers to clients to update their records for future contributions. However, in this instance there is no one-to-one redirect of USIs from BT Super to Mercer products so we are unable to offer this unfortunately. The below table outlines the redirect based on the Phase an employee is currently in within BT Super, which is how new USIs are being determined for employees.

ClickSuper does not have any visibility on this level of detail for member accounts, so if clients are unsure on the new details we recommend reaching out to the member or superfund directly for confirmation. Members will be provided with their new Mercer Super member numbers in their Welcome Pack, due mid-April 2023. Until the member number is received, if making contribution payments to the new Mercer USI after the 1st April 2023 we recommend leaving the member number blank so the superfund can process contributions based on other member details such as TFN and DOB. ClickSuper will not reject contributions that do not have a member number.
